01 / About

Hello,
I’m Evan.

I’m a fourth-year Bachelor of Commerce student at Queen’s University’s Smith School of Business. I’m interested in where business, data, and product meet, and what happens when you put an idea into practice.

From researching markets to building a trading script and creating finance videos, I enjoy making complex ideas useful. Outside of that, you’ll probably find me bouldering or talking about cars.

Historical exploration works without a key. Live games need a separate free provider key; live injuries are not connected.

Transparent by design

Replaced paid language-model picks with reproducible statistical forecasts using only earlier game data. The backend uses parameterized queries, shared ingestion, bounded caching, timeouts, and capped retries.

Retrospective evaluation: 64.3% winner accuracy versus a 54.7% always-home baseline on 2,503 games in a 2023–25 evaluation. The model abstained on 31 additional games. This is a historical reconstruction, not current accuracy or betting performance; the archive has coverage gaps.

Player history explores downloaded historical game logs. Player projection accuracy has not been evaluated.

03 / Off the clock

Beyond the screen.

A few things I’m into
outside of work and school.

01 / Getting outside my head

Bouldering

One of my favourite ways to spend time away from a desk.

02 / An easy conversation starter

Cars

Japanese domestic market cars, Mercedes, and BMW. Always happy to talk cars.

03 / A food favourite

Osmow’s

A simple answer to “where should we eat?”

04 / On the court

NBA

Following basketball and exploring how data can help explain the game.

05 / On the pitch

Football

Another sport I enjoy following away from work and school.

06 / In my headphones

Melodic bass

A favourite corner of electronic music.
